ZTE Announced its First Single-Chip LTE Device, the Grand X LTE
The Grand X LTE is ZTE’s first single-chip LTE handset and it uses the energy efficient and powerful 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 dual-core processor, which is manufactured based on 0.28nm technology. The handset features Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) and 8Mp rear-facing camera that supports 1080p video recording. The Grand X LTE has a unique button-less design that resembles a mini tablet and the 1900 mAh battery can keep the phone switched on longer during the day.
ZTE is aiming to make the Grand X LTE, its high-end flagship offering this year. Unfortunately, ZTE revealed too little details on the device, for example, there’s no word on the size and type of display used. The phone should arrive in the Europe and Asia-Pacific area in Q3 2012. The Chinese phone vendor has been making significant investment in LTE technology since 2008 and it now owns 7 percent of LTE-related patents worldwide.
