Windows Phone 8 Equipped Odyssey is Planned for T-Mobile
A few weeks ago we caught words of Samsung’s upcoming Windows Phone 8 handsets, the Odyssey and Marco. Latest information is pointing to the Odyssey as T-Mobile’s next handset. The Odyssey seems to have favorable specs details with 4.65” Super-AMOLED HD display, 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 dual-core processor, 8Mp rear-facing camera, 2Mp front-facing shooter and LTE support. Recently leaked “User Agent Profile” seems to match this information and it also says that the device will have Internet Explorer 10.
The phone will also feature HSPA+ network, which is a good thing as T-Mobile doesn’t have LTE capability yet. Being marked as an NFC-capable device, the Odyssey will support related features such as Tap & Send and Wallet Hub.
The Odyssey will be codenamed SGH-T899 and the “T” refers to its identification as a T-Mobile device; there’s also a possibility that the phone will be called the Samsung Focus S2 during release. Windows Phone users in T-Mobile’s networks have been affected by the lack of high-end WP devices for a long time since the HTC HD7 and the Odyssey is certainly a great development for them.
