Users Should Be Able To Purchase A $200 Off-Contract iPhone In 2014
Gene Munster, an Apple analyst, said that there’s a possibility that we will be seeing an off-contract iPhone priced at $200 in 2014. He has made a series of predictions about Apple and able to make them sound quite good. He predicted a couple of years ago that Apple would give away on-contract iPhone for free and this is what the company ended up doing, although the phone model involved is rather old.
If the year 2013 would give us the iPhone 5S, then we should already get the iPhone 6 in 2014. If we are going to make a guess, it is quite probable that the phone with $200 off-contract price would be the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S. This would give Apple the opportunity to make a strong presence in budget category and take advantage of the huge emerging markets, which are currently dominated by Android.
Even in 2014, the iPhone 4 isn’t a terribly outdated piece of hardware as some users find that the iPhone 3 is still usable today. Emerging markets in Asia, Africa and South America currently predisposed towards sub-$300 models and Apple should do really well with a $200 iPhone.
