The Upcoming Sony Xperia Tipo
Sony finally confirmed the Xperia Tipo, which was previously rumored as the Tapioca. The phone is a low-end handset, which is suitable for anyone recently transitioning to smartphones. It comes in two flavors, single and dual SIM models, with the latter is known as the Sony Xperia Tipo Dual. The Xperia Tipo runs an 800MHz Qualcomm single-core processor, 3.2” HVGA (320×480) display manufactured from scratch-resistant mineral glass, and 3.2Mp rear-facing camera. The 2.5 GB of onboard storage is only enough for storing a few apps, but it’s still possible to insert up to 32GB microSD card into the external memory slot. Users also get a dedicated physical button for switching between two SIMs. There’s nothing earth-shattering here, but on the bright side, the handset is likely to be competitively priced.
It is really worth noting that the Xperia Tipo could deliver more than 24 hours of usage time with its 1500 mAh. It is also a good thing that Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) already comes preinstalled.
