The Existence of Sony Xperia E Dual May Be Confirmed
The Xperia Tipo Dual is Sony’s first dual-SIM smartphone and it won’t be the last. And judging by various signs and evidences we see in the market, a follow-up could be being prepared. Indonesia’s POSTEL database often becomes the source of new rumors. Details are still pretty scarce, but we can take an educated guess that the Xperia E Dual would be an entry-level handset.
Rumor has it that the phone will be powered by the 1GHz Snapdragon S1 MSM7225A processor, which is obsolete for today’s standard but decent enough to be used on low-end handsets. It is said that the display will have HVGA (320 x 480) resolution and the screen size is likely 3.5” or smaller. Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.4) will run inside the chassis.
Overall, although the Sony Xperia E Dual won’t impress us with its performance level, it should have an interesting price tag. With reasonable pricing and dual-SIM configuration, the phone could turn out to be something interesting in emerging markets.
