Following the footsteps of HTC; we are now seeing six other companies, Samsung, Sony, LG, ZTE, Huawei and Oppo, wishing to release 1080p handsets n the market. Now, Panasonic has joined the list with its own take on full-HD device. The Panasonic P-02E will have 5” 1080p display and Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.2).
However, based on latest statement, the device won’t venture beyond Japanese border to avoid financial risks associated with global smartphones sales. For the time being, Panasonic hasn’t established definite pricing and release date of the phone.
The phone was first spotted on terminal access log of NTT DoCoMo; other than the display resolution and Android version, there’s no other details leaked. However, we can still make an educated guess with reasonable accuracy. It’s safe to say that the phone will feature a powerful quad-core chip, which makes it on par with other 1080p devices in the market, including the HTC J Butterfly, which is a Japan-only smartphone.
