Sony’s New Xperia Tablet is Revealed
The Sony Tablet S may now have a new successor as revealed by a German news site, Mobiflip. The device seems to be a significant refinement of the Tablet S with lighter and thinner design as well as more powerful hardware, At 8.8mm thick, the water-proof tablet is nearly 50 percent thinner than the Tablet S and it will come with Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 3G connectivity and Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). The 6000mAh battery should be adequate for 10 hours of straight Wi-Fi browsing and it will be available in three internal storage options: 16GB ($449.99), 32GB ($549.99) and 64GB ($649.99). These price points should undercut the new iPad by $50, for each internal storage option.
The image also reveals a keyboard cover, which bears some resemblance with the one used by Microsoft’s Surface Tablet. This additional accessory could be pegged at a retail price of $99.99. Other available accessories are premium cover, keyboard-less cover, dock speaker, simple stand, docking stand and a cradle. It is important to note that Sony will copy Samsung’s strategy of putting all Android smartphone and tablet models into the same brand.
