Sony Xperia Z4 May Not Have Waterproofed Chassis
We receive additional details about the Sony Xperia Z4 back in November and a bunch of pictures showed us the phone’s LCD touch digitizer. Fortunately, we are gleaning more information about the phone’s design and its likely features. For starters, the Xperia Z4 is placed alongside the Z3. It appears that the newer phone is 1mm thinner or at 6.3mm thick.
It also means that the Xperia Z4 is actually thinner than the Galaxy S6 series and Apple iPhone 6. However, there’s a price for such a reduction in physical thickness. For example, Sony may have ditched the waterproofing feature, which is the highlight of the Xperia Z series. For example, the microUSB port is not longer protected by a flap and it has been repositioned to the bottom.
Also, there’s no microSD slot and this could mean that the Japanese company has mirrored Samsung approach with its new flagships. Other difference is the microphone which is placed at the opposite side on the top and it is no longer positioned near the audio jack. Being a Japanese company, Sony is known for its relative perfection, so we should still be able to get the cutting edge technology and overall precision.
