Sony Quietly Releases the Xperia SL
Back in July, the media brought us news of Sony’s upcoming smartphone, the Xperia SL, which was believed as a refresh to the original Sony Xperia S. The smartphone seems to have many similar specs of the Xperia S, including a new color option and an improved processor. An image of the phone is posted on Sony’s official website, perhaps as a preparation of the next IFA press conference. The Xperia S is currently Sony’s flagship and the SL should be able to find similar success. Its more notable difference is the slightly higher clocked processor; the 1.7GHz Qualcomm S3 dual-core processor, while the original Xperia S uses the same chip at only 1.5GHz.
According to leaked specs, the smartphone has 4.3” LCD HD display, Adreno 220 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 12Mp rear-facing camera, 1.3Mp front-facing shooter and 32GB of internal storage. The Xperia SL is reportedly to have more than 8 hours of talk time and more than two weeks of standby time. The phone will run Ice Cream Sandwich and we still don’t have the pricing and release date information yet.
