Samsung’s Documents Reveal the “Odyssey” and “Marco”
Samsung is planning the release of two Windows Phone 8 smartphones, namely, “Odyssey” and “Marco”, which are powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor and Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset. Qualcomm’s solution seems to be the preferred solution for Windows Phone 8 devices and its processors, including the 1.5GHz dual-core SoC, have been undergoing tests for Microsoft’s upcoming mobile OS version.
In its court document, Samsung also reveals a number of key features:
Samsung Odysse: The Odyssey seems to be the more advanced with 4.65” Super-AMOLED HD display and 8Mp-rear facing camera.
Samsung Marco: While the Marco comes with a smaller 4” Super-AMOLED WVGA (480×800) display and a 5MP rear-facing camera.
Both phones are listed as LTE (4G) devices, while the Odyssey is marked as an NFC smartphone, suggesting support for a number of WP8’s upcoming features such as Tap + Send and Wallet Hub. Both phones may hit the shelves in November or later as Microsoft will release the Windows Phone 8 to manufacturers in October.
