Samsung Galaxy Note 2 May Arrive On August 29th
After a long wait, we may finally get an official release date of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which is set to a specific event on August 29th, about a couple weeks before the iPhone 5’s debut. Samsung and Apple are bracing a full-blown conflict as the two important models are preparing to lock horns in a high-stakes battle. A spokesperson from Samsung said the “Samsung Mobile Unpacked” event will be held in Berlin and it will take place a couple of days before IFA, Europe’s most important consumer electronics trade fair. Reports speculate that the new iteration of the Galaxy Note will feature a slightly larger 5.5” display, better camera and faster processor.
Unlike Nokia and other major phone makers, Samsung was once a laggard in the mobile industry and now it has become the largest in the market. With its new phablet, Samsung could defend its supremacy when the sixth version of Apple’s smartphone (iPhone 5) finally arrives this October. The South Korean company has sold more than 50 million smartphones in Q2 2012, nearly double what Apple has sold.
