Production of Samsung Galaxy S5 Could Start on January Next Year
Sources in South Korea have shined some light on Samsung’s plan with its next flagship, the Galaxy S5. They hinted that there will be two variants of the phone; one with the regular plastic chassis and a more premium model with metallic chassis. These chips will be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest processor, presumably the recently unveiled Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor as well as Samsung’s 64-bit Exynos Octa processor.
It’s not clear yet, whether each variant will get different processor model, but given that Samsung doesn’t have enough resources to produce enough Exynos processor, it would still require Qualcomm’s help to supply them with additional processors.
Speaking about projected demand, Samsung issued a more modest sales expectation, which is 70 percent lower than the Galaxy S4 sales. The actual production phase could start in January and the South Korean company will continue to ramp it up on the following months.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 could be equipped with 5.3-inch 2k (2560 x 1440) display, which offers 560ppi of pixel density. There are also 16Mp rear-facing camera, 2GB of RAM and 2Mp front-facing camera sensor. There were reports that Samsung will put a 4000mAh battery inside the chassis, which is quite huge by any measure.
