Pinterest Releases Official Apps for Android and iPad
Pinterest has launched its official app for Android and iPad; after dropping an invite-only policy. A version for the Kindle Fire will also soon be released to the Amazon AppStore. Pinterest’s top executives have stressed the necessity to expand the service’s business into the mobile space. Last year, Pinterest has already made inroads with the release of iPhone-only app.
Pinterest for iPhone has been upped to version 2.0 and it delivers numerous stability and performance improvements along with an interface upgrade. iPad users have the unique ability to use Pinterest’s integrated web browsers, while a shortcut offers a quick access to pinned items on a given page. Both iOS and Android versions seem to offer similar capability, allowing users to manage pinned content, follow other users and browse categories. This development should bring the popular online service to more users and expand the company’s operation significantly.
If you are not familiar with Pinterest yet, the service allows you to “pin” content, primarily photos onto a virtual board and follow other “pinners”.
