Phillips W8355Phillips is a major company in tech world with 100,000 employees worldwide, but it has only limited involvement in the smartphone landscape. Over the years, the Dutch-based multinational company has released a few budget phones and tablets. With the W8355, the company is attempting to expand its presence in the mobile industry.

One significant feature of the phone is the 5.3” display, but instead of boasting 1080p resolution, the W8355 only offers qHD resolution. This little detail alone put the phone away from the “premium” smartphone club, pioneered by HTC J Butterfly/Droid DNA. Other details are 5Mp rear camera, 512MB of RAM and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS.

While there’s no word on its actual price tag, considering the phone modest specs sheet, we may not need to dig too deep into our pockets. Other noteworthy features are 1GHz dual-core processor and dual-SIM capability. Of course, 4G LTE connectivity is not available in this huge beast.
