Pegatron May Receive an Order for the iPhone 5
Unnamed sources in Taiwan recently revealed that one of Apple’s OEM manufacturers, the Pegatron Technology has landed a huge order for the iPhone 5, which is slated for release in Q3 2012, possibly at September. In addition, a 10” iPad is rumored to hit shelves at the end of the year. Other rumors said that Foxconn will manufacture a smaller 7” iPad and it is expected to arrive this August. This move may help boost Pegatron operation as Asus is trying to separate itself from the OEM manufacturer by releasing 277 million shared and reducing its motherboard orders.
Previously, there are numerous rumors that the upcoming iPhone will be available for consumers in September. However, unless it’s an upgrade to the new iPad (3rd generation iPad), it’s a bit unlikely to see 4th generation iPad before Q1 2013. The new iPad needs some updates as its 4G capability only works in North America, not in Europe, Australia and Asia Pacific. As for the smaller iPad, last month a report surfaced that the Taiwan-based OEM manufacturer has received an order for 7.85” iPad with 1024×768 pixels resolution.
