Pantech Revealed the Star Q Destined for Verizon’s Network
As touchscreen getting more ubiquitous, it is easy to think that smartphones with slide-out QWERTY keyboard are marching along quietly toward extinction. Leaked specs and images of the Pantech Star Q are circulating on the web and it might be designated as Pantech Breakout’s successor in Verizon’s network.
It’s good to know that the Star Q will come with a decent configuration, which include a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chip and Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.4), although there’s a rumor that the processor is currently in low supply. The phone’s 4” display uses a common resolution of 480 x 800 pixels to ensure high compatibility with nearly all Android apps.
The Pantech Star Q might not seem too impressive, but it should handle the OS and apps smoothly. While not too horrendous, the 3Mp rear-facing may disappoint typical Android users. Nevertheless, at $99 with 2-year contract the phone should deliver good value to users.
