Olympic Editions of Galaxy Y and Galaxy Note are Released in UK
The UK-based O2 unveiled two new Olympic Edition devices in preparation of the upcoming summer sports event. These are Samsung Galaxy Y and Samsung Galaxy Note with emblazoned Union Jack on the standard black back cover. If users buy one of them, they will be donating $1.55 or £1 to the Great Britain athlete team. Also, they have the opportunity to win two exclusive tickets for the training cap session and the celebration event, which will take place in London. Both handsets are now available in O2’s website.
Specs-wise, both still come with standard configurations. The Samsung Galaxy Note is powered by a 1.4GHz ARM Cortex-A9 dual core processor and 1GB of RAM. It has a huge 5.3” Super-AMOLED display with 1280×800 pixels density.
The Samsung Galaxy Y is an entry level device and a direct opposite to the massive Galaxy Note. It features a tiny 3” low-res (240×320 pixels) display and cramped 180 MB of onboard storage; however users can insert up to 32GB of microSD card into the external memory slot. Also, the 830MHz ARM6 single-core processor is adequate for anything except serious gaming and intense multitasking.
