It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S3 is not the only upcoming premium gadget that the media has been touting. Journalists have also talked about a new smartphone, the Lumia 910.
As of today, very few details have been revealed in regards to the new phone; other than the expected release date, it will have an integrated 12Mp. If we can infer the model number, the phone could be a minor upgrade to the Nokia’s current flagship and the 12Mp rear-facing camera may very well the only major improvement.
Overall, the smartphone remains an utter and complete mystery. In case you haven’t kept yourself updated, Nokia revealed that it will release an LTE-enabled Lumia 900 before Q2 2012. Many reviewers were extremely excited with the smartphone, so excited in fact they titled it the best phone in CES 2012.
As we all know, the Nokia Lumia 900 is only designed for the North American market and the phone is not yet scheduled for Europeans. This is also the reason why many smartphone retailers in Europe use “Coming Soon” tags for the Lumia 900. Eldar Murtazin, a popular, frequent source of Nokia rumors said that the Lumia 900 will be released in Europe in Q3 2012. If these rumors prove to be true, this could be a huge sales mistake, as the Lumia 910 is expected to arrive in May 2012.
Outside the US, Nokia is known for its superb camera and it can be a good selling point for Lumia 910. The 4.3” display should probably stay, while the LTE support could be dropped as it’s no use in most European countries.
