Nokia Lumia 510 is Officially Announced
Nokia Lumia 510 is expected to become a new entry level Windows Phone smartphones, which is priced at only $199 off-contract, excluding subsidies and taxes. It is due for release next month. The phone delivers 4” WVGA display and 5Mp rear-facing camera. The smartphone is a direct successor to the Lumia 610, which was released in February 2012 and sold at about $250. The Nokia Lumia 610 has a smaller 3.7” display, but with similar 5Mp camera and display resolution. The onboard storage is still 4GB, but Lumia 510 is slightly lighter and thinner.
It is unclear whether the phone will use Windows Phone 8, but considering the low-performance 800MHz single-core processor, it may use WP7.5 or WP7.8 instead. The Nokia Lumia 510 should complement the Asha lineup with its Series 40 platform. Currently, the Asha 308 and 309 are considered as Nokia’s cheapest capacitive display smartphone, with an off contract price of only $99.
