More Details on Huawei Ascend D2 Appeared
Huawei unveiled early details of the Ascend D2 in China last month and now, data from benchmark results start to fill out some of the blanks. It turns out that the Ascend D2 is quite impressive with 1800 x 1080 resolution instead of the usual 1920 x 1080, but we can assume that the slightly smaller resolution is due to the use of on-screen buttons.
The Ascend D2 will also have a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, which will be paired by a GPU from Hisilicon Technologies. The SoC will be a homebrewed model, possibly the K3V2. Recent benchmark results show that the phone will run Jelly Bean (Android 4.1), but there’s still the possibility that the phone will be bumped to Android 4.2 instead during the time of release.
The phone should be presented at CES 2013 in January with the official release to occur immediately soon after. Like what had happened so many times before, China would be the first to receive the phone and it’s a bit hard to predict an International release.
