Microsoft Introduced SkyDrive for Windows Phone 2.0 and a New Pricing Structure
The popular cloud storage and file sharing service, SkyDrive, has been updated for Windows Phone. SkyDrive is known to offer more free storage capacity compared to some competitors. New features include quick files sharing with approved individuals in People Hub, folder permission management and easier files management using the batch-select tool. The SkyDrive version 2.0 is now available in the Marketplace and it also supports low-end Windows Phones devices.
Microsoft also revealed a new pricing structure for its SkyDrive service. An additional 20GB of storage will set you back $10, 50GB for $25 and 100GB for $50. Microsoft no longer offers 25GB of free storage for users, dropping the storage capacity to 7GB for free accounts. However, the 25GB of storage is still available for current free users based on limited-time loyalty offer.
