LG Officialy Announces the Optimus Vu 2
The original Samsung Galaxy Note is one of the most sought after devices in the market today and it will soon receive competition from other phone makers. Rivals have begun releasing their own take on devices in this category and the Optimus Vu 2 will be set to compete with Samsung’s newest offering, the Galaxy Note 2.
The earlier LG Optimus Vu took on the original Samsung Galaxy Note. Unfortunately, the Optimus Vu unusually went with 4:3 aspect ratio compared to smartphones that use 16:9. This has made the phablet a bit difficult to slide into the pocket and feels awkward in the hand. The Vu arrived to the Korean market before finding its way into the US market through Verizon.
Unfortunately, the Optimus Vu 2 still uses the troublesome 4:3 aspect ratio on its 5” display. The device will use 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, which is backed with 2GB of RAM and 2150mAH battery. There’s still no availability information, but it’s expected that the Optimus Vu 2 will be sold at a stellar price tag of $865, which is a bit expensive for an Android 4.0 phablet.`
