Jelly Bean Update Finally Arrives to Samsung Galaxy S3 in US
Finally, Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) update for Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming to the US and Sprint is the first carrier to distribute it. The update pushes the device from Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1), via an OTA (over the air) installation. The update is listed as L710VPLJ7 and it is certainly the best build available in the Android community today. Unfortunately, users of Samsung Galaxy S3 on Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, US Cellular and AT&T need to wait until 2013.
The Jelly Bean update won’t be a stock Android experience and it comes with some useful enhancements, most notably enhanced navigation, voice-command and information system, as well as Google Now. Users will also get tweaks to its TouchWiz UI, camera enhancements and improved keyboard features. Currently, there are only a few devices running Jelly Bean, including the Nexus 7 Tablet, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and a few Motorola tablets.
