Huawei Releases its First 4G (LTE) Handset
A press release is published by MetroPCS and Huawei recently regarding the Activa 4G, Huawei’s first 4G (LTE) handset. The smartphone is essentially a mid-range device and the price tag properly reflects that. The smartphone has available in the market and as far as hardware specifications go; the Huawei Activa 4G features a 800MHz single-core processor, 3.5” HVGA display, VGA front-facing shooter and a 5Mp rear-facing camera. It comes preloaded with a 4GB of microSD card. The handset is launching with Gingerbread (Android 2.3) and there’s no mention whether an Android 4.0 upgrade will be available.
As mentioned above, the handset is already available online and stores. After a $50 main-in rebate, the handset will be sold for just $149.
Unfortunately, the offer is only for a limited amount of time. For off-contract plan, MetroPCS may jack the phone up to about $250, which is relatively comparable to handsets of similar specs, like Samsung Galaxy Ace.
