Huawei May Be Preparing a Pair of Windows 8 Smartphones and a Windows 8 Tablet
Just like many Chinese phone makers, Android has been the operating system of choice for Android. But, according to WPDang, a local news site, the phone maker may be very well planning to add Windows Phone smartphones and Windows 8 tablet to its portfolio. Huawei reportedly putting together a team of engineers to develop a couple of Windows Phone 8 smartphones. One phone simply uses the design of an existing Android phone and after the new OS is proven to be adequately stable, it will be sold for an affordable price of $315. Another handset has a new design and it will boast a 4” display.
The Windows 8 tablet is purportedly to have LTE (4G) capability, however beyond that, very few details are revealed. Huawei is known to manufacture handsets with acceptable build quality and relatively low price. The company is starting to move to the high-end segment, with the quad-core Ascend D Quad and the super-slim Ascend P1, and it is interesting to see how its WP8 and Windows 8 devices will compare to the competition. However, just like other rumors in the industry, we should take WPDang’s report with a grain of salt.
