HTC Reveals the Micro Arc Oxidation Process
If you are a loyal user of HTC phones, you might want to take a look at how HTC One S is manufactured. The Taiwanese phone maker recently released a video about how the micro arc oxidation process is used to manufacture the phone’s chassis. HTC claimed that the process allows them to build phone with premium finish and high durability.
The raw material used is aircraft-grade aluminum; 10.000 volts of electricity hit the aluminum sheet, triggering the formation of highly durable ceramic case, that’s stronger than standard aircraft-grade aluminum.
These are reasons why micro arc oxidation is used by some manufacturers:
- High durability
- Makes the smartphone thinner and stronger
- It’s three times stronger than steel
The One S is HTC’s next flagship; it will be powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor and Android 4.0
