Hacked Facebook Home From XDA Developers Can Be Installed on Any Android Device
Mere hours after the Facebook Home was launched a hacker has modified it to allow easy installation on nearly any Android devices. The social networking giant unveiled the Home more than a week ago and it’s designed to deliver deeper access to Facebook services. Officially, the UI only supports a few smartphone models including HTC One X, HTC One X+, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S4. Supports for HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available in upcoming updates.
It is unfortunate that a hacker from the XDA Developers forum called theos0o has modified the Facebook home. Root access is not required, but the device should allow app installation from sources other than the Google Play store. Users are also required to uninstall all apps related to Facebook, including those preinstalled on the device. The installation process is pretty straightforward, but users need to wipe the Dalvik cache if they encounter serious issues.
