Cargo-Bot, The First iPad Game Developed Entirely on the iPad
Cargo-Bot could be the next step in making the iPad a more sustainable device, like traditional desktop PCs. An app development firm called Two Lives Left launched Cargo-Bot, the first iPad game developed entirely on the iPad. The app is based on Lua programming language and developed with Codea.
Two Lives Left has also released the source code of Codea Runtime Library, which allows registered iOS third party developers to create apps using Codea. For something that wasn’t developed on a PC or Mac, Cargo-Bot looks quite nice. The gameplay is enjoyable and the graphics are well done. It is still very early, but in a few years, the iPad and Android tablets could become reliable app development platforms. Cargo-Bot is now available on the App Market for free.
