BlackBerry 10 OS May Support Qualcomm’s High-End Processors
RIM’s future BlackBerry 10 devices could be powered by one of the most powerful processors in the market, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The chip is likely to be clocked at 1.5GHz and boosted by Adreno 320 GPU for fluid multi tasking and graphic performance in HD resolution. The GPU is quite likely faster than variants of Adreno 225 GPU currently used by HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3. Qualcomm’s processor also has integrated LTE support.
RIM says that it is near the finishing line and insists that a roll-out date would be somewhere in early 2013. The company is finalizing its next operating system and RIM is reaching a point where it has a confidence level that demonstrates the validity of its products. The company will initially release two full-screen devices and a keyboard-touchscreen hybrid with the OS. RIM seems to be more receptive to market demands by promising larger display sizes and other features commonly found on Android and iOS devices.
