Asus Nexus Tablet Will be Released in July
Previous rumors indicated that the upcoming Google Tablet will hit the shelves sometime this year, perhaps roughly around the time Amazon and Apple release their new tablet. Now, an unnamed source claims that the tablet will arrive as early as July this year. Rumors in industry are generally a hit and miss affair, but there are generally a healthy dose of truth in them. The tablet is likely to arrive from Asus’ assembly lines and other rumors said that the Taiwanese company will be among of a handful who will release early Jelly Bean (Android 5.0) devices. Google may intentionally use Asus as a deterrent against likely harsh feelings in the industry about the acquisition of Motorola.
The tablet is pushed to a July launch for a few minor adjustments. Once released, it is expected that 2.5 million devices will be shipped by the end of 2012. Google’s online store is slated for launch this summer and there’s a good chance the tablet will make its debut on it. It allows Google to sell the tablet directly, just like what Apple has been doing for years.
