Asus Introduced the Huge Transformer AiO
For many visitors of Computex 2012 in Taiwan, the Asus Transformer AiO could be the most intriguing machine they’ve seen so far in the show. It is essentially an 18.4” desktop computer with dual operating system: Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and the long-awaited Microsoft Windows 8. Although little details are known at this point, the Transformer AiO stunned many visitors with its ability to work as a huge tablet. When detached and run in tablet mode, the display offers the usability and performance level as when in the docked mode.
It is likely Android will be used as default OS for the tablet mode and Windows used for more traditional PC configuration. The huge display probably has at least 720p resolution, LED backlit and 10 points multitouch. Previously, Asus introduced Tablet 610 and Tablet 800; the former uses Nvidia Tegra 3 and Windows RT, while the latter, Intel Atom Medfield and Windows 8 full-version. The Tablet 810 features Wacom digitizer, which allows users to simulate a mouse.
