Android 5.0 (Jelly Bean) Will be Released Simultaneously on Five Smartphones
Recent reports revealed that Google is planning to shift its Android strategy, by allowing other manufacturers to become among the first to release a new Android version, As many as five phone makers may have the privilege to obtain first access to the Android 5.0 (Jelly Bean). Google plan to sell these smartphones, unlocked to consumers in the Asia, Europe and United States directly online. Some sources reported that Thanksgiving is the likely target date.
While Android is well accepted, it suffers from fragmentation and inconsistency issues, which also affect the rest of the Linux community. The new move allows consumers worldwide to have ample options and easy access to the latest Android version.
With previous Nexus handsets, only a small fraction of smartphone market can purchase them within a few weeks after the release. This will also allow manufacturers develop their own custom builds. Post-release Android OS developments have long been at the mercy of mobile network providers and such a strategy may restore the control back to the search engine giant.
