A New $100 Quad-Core Smartphone is Introduced in China
Another $100 quad-core smartphone has been unveiled and as expected, it is available only for people in China. The Daxian XY100S manages to bring an extremely low price despite the use of 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6589 quad-core chip.
Obviously, we can’t expect to get all-impressive hardware specs, in fact, the rest of the components look like those taken from budget devices. The Daxian XY100S will offer 4.7” WVGA display, 4GB onboard storage, 1GB of RAM, 1800mAh battery, dual-SIM slots and microSD card slot.
China is probably the most exciting place in the smartphone industry. Previously, the Goophone X1 was also released; priced at only $100, the phone is powered by a slightly slower 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor, 4.7” WVGA display and 1GB of RAM.
There are a number of interesting phablets priced affordably as well, such as the JiaYu G4 ($249) with 4.7” 720p display and Umi X2 ($229) with 5” full HD display. The GooPhone i5S is a popular iPhone 5 clone in the country with Android OS modified to look like iOS 6.
